Demand Response Pilot Preparation and Design
EQL Energy was retained by BC Hydro to assess and evaluate demand response potential with industrial and commercial customers, present ideas for capacity based DSM and pricing, use of AMI, and meter data analytics. Reviewed market differences for capacity, ancillary services, and transmission. Cost effectiveness studies for non-wire benefits of demand response and distributed generation, targeting planned investments in substations, transformers, and transmission. Provided a program methodology to achieve both capacity (kVA) and energy (kVAh) during daily peak periods.
